A major challenge for the Olympics is financing. The 2024 organising committee has an operating budget of 4.4 billion euros, an estimated 96% of which is funded by the private sector. French Luxury group LVMH signed a deal to become a premium sponsor for the games, ending months of speculation, but there are still questions over whether funds will be enough to cover rising costs.
