Goldman Sachs mourns a 27-year-old analyst who was found dead in a New York creek after he hadn't been seen since leaving a Brooklyn concert early Saturday

A 27-year-old Goldman Sachs analyst who was last seen early Saturday morning was found dead in a Brooklyn creek on Tuesday.
John Castic had been a senior analyst in the controller's office at Goldman's Jersey City, New Jersey, location, the company confirmed to Insider.
The New York Police Department, which had been searching for Castic, pulled him from the creek. The city's medical examiner is still investigating the cause of death, the NYPD told Insider.
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said Castic would be deeply missed by his coworkers at the bank.
"We are all shocked and saddened to learn of John's tragic passing," Solomon said in a statement to Insider. "John was a dedicated, driven member of our Controllers team working closely with our Asset and Wealth Management business. Our thoughts are with his mother Dawn, his father Jeff, and his entire family at this very difficult time."
According to his LinkedIn page, Castic received a bachelor's degree in finance from DePaul University in 2020 — and had been working at Goldman Sachs since August 2022.
Castic, who lived on Manhattan's Lower East Side, was last seen around 3 a.m. on Saturday after leaving a concert at a venue called the Brooklyn Mirage, the NYPD said.
Castic is the second person to be found dead in Newtown Creek in recent weeks: The other person, 27-year-old Karl Clemente, was found in June and also had been to a concert at the Brooklyn Mirage, Bloomberg reported. He'd been missing for several days before he was found. The city's medical examiner is still examining Clemente's cause of death, the NYPD told Insider.
New York television station WPIX posted what it said was security camera footage of Castic leaving the club where he was last seen. Castic was wearing a printed button shirt, khaki pants, and white shoes. He'd been to see a concert of Canadian electronic music duo Zeds Dad. Brooklyn Mirage didn't respond to questions from WPIX.
