Daniel Farke pre Cardiff
I'm looking forward it. I've been to Elland Road a few times and I know the atmosphere is alwas good. We're looking forward to the real stuff.
Injury news
Bamford has a hamstring injury. He'll miss the next games. Rutter looks slightly better but will miss the next game. We hope he will return as quick as possible. Joseph rolled his ankle in training so he will miss the next 3-4 weeks.
Farke on transfers
We're working hard. We're realistic and we need to strengthen in all areas. We need a centre-half, full-back, midfield, power up front. We're not complaiing about exit clauses. We need to be careful but I'm really confident. It's too early to speak about our goals and targets, we have to wait until Sep 1. We go with what we've got and I'm quite happy.
I have spoke about the situation. There were clauses to make sure we were not in the driving seat about exits. It makes no sense to moan, we take it as it is. I cannot guarentee that there will be no more outgoings.
On Byram
We have had talks. We'll speak about business when it's done. We wait. He's had a good pre-season
Farke's striker plans
It's difficult. Obviously we are thin but that's the nature of the season. There will always be problems. I'm not too concerned. I'll have to be creative to find a solution.
What's surprised you?
I'm not surprised. I knew this club was massive. I'm surprised with the reaction of my lads, there's sometimes a hangover after relegation but the lads have stuck together impressively. The group is not overly big, we've trained with 16 today. It's not perfect but as long as they are tight you have a chance. I think our sitaution will improve. For me it's most important to have unity as a club. From the outside world I always thought this club and the supporters were close and the players had the fan backing. This is what I feel at the moment. I feel positivity.
How tough will promotion be?
It's always good to have the experience and know what is necessary. The first time we were promoted with Norwich, we were a bunch of unknown, young lads. The second season we were more or less favourites every game and we fulfilled expectations. It's important to know what is necessary and experience helps. It's a hell of a task. We have a special situation and we started later so it's difficult. The Premier League is the best league in the world but the Championship is toughest. I'm a deep believer that you get what you're willing to invest.
An update on Dallas
It's not possible to give a timescale. We have to make sure he comes back as strong as possible. There's no pressure or rush. I love to have him around, he's good for the players. He's perfect personality and person.
More injury updates
They've improved since we spoke last time. Tyler isn't too far from returning to training. Jack is a bit futher. Hopefully Tyler can return earlier. He was out for such a long time and he needs training and the same with Jack. Greenwood is more or less the same.
Goalkeeper competition
We need competition. Man management can be difficult but we need competition. We need it in a few other positions. It's clear that Illan will start if he's fit.
Archie Gray
I have spoken a few times. I have reputation for bringing young players, they always get tough love from me. I don't like to praise them too early. Let's wait. I'm happy with him but before he plays a few games I'm not willing to sing his praise. When I'm strict with a player he knows he's on a good path and with Archie I will be very strict.
