Emmerdale fans demand the return of Meena Jutla to kill off the soap’s ‘dead weight’ characters
SUMMER is drama-packed in the Dales as Dan Spencer faces justice and Rishi Sharma has been killed off.
Emmerdale fans have called for serial killer Meena Jutla to take back her spot and shake things up in the ITV village.
The sinister nurse was last seen being dragged to her prison cell after turning her own trial turned into courtroom mayhem.
She was sentenced to 75 years behind bars after committing several murders.
Meena tearfully begged for attention from the prison guards through her cell door but was ignored as many had figured out this was the only way to escape from her mind games.
But it turns out these were what made the Yorkshire-based drama worth watching for certain viewers.
Many of them turned to Twitter, reminiscing Meena’s biggest moments as they were shown Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) in the same courtroom as her for his GBH charge.
Viewers will know the mechanic is facing justice for murder after his daughter’s stalker Lloyd died in hospital from a bleed in his brain resulting from their altercation.
“Rather than waiting for the sentence hearing, can you do a deal to send Dan straight to jail and release Meena. Please think about it”, one soap fan commented.
Another added: “Meena part 2, Emmerdale seem to be at there best when it comes too courtroom drama.”
“They’re in the courtroom… who else is thinking of our Meena right now”, a third viewer joined in.
Other recent storylines prompted soap fans to beg for Meena to come back to the eponymous village.
One viewer penned: “Laurel kidnapped? feel like this is Meena revisited! but looks a good week on paper” while another wrote: “I would love for Meena to come back and push Lloyds wife off a cliff.”
“I can’t believe I’m missing Meena. I take back every bad thing I said about her”, one social media user chimed in.
“Where’s Meena? She would have been heartbroken to find Rishi dead”, added another.
An avid soap viewer echoed: “Sad that Rishi didn’t get a chance to see his Son walk Laurel down the aisle. Jai is gonna feel so guilty. But we could always go one step further. Meena is back.”
Another theorised that Meena may have escaped from prison and pushed Rishi down the stairs herself in an explosive revenge plot.
“Meena pushed Rishi down the stairs, then she will kill the vicars, folks”, they argued.
“Please bring Meena back”, another viewer pleaded as one Meena fan agreed: “Emmerdale lost the crown when Meena left.”
“We need Meena back to kill of a few s*** characters”, one fan concluded.
Meena was first introduced to viewers of the long-running drama in September, 2020, as a feisty albeit materialistic nurse and Manpreet Sharma’s younger sister.
A well-known schemer, a darker side of her personality was introduced when she murdered Leanna Cavanagh in cold blood during her 18th birthday, terrified another one of her murders would come to light.
Things snowballed for Meena, particularly as she tried to break Charles Anderson’s relationship with Andrea Tate off for the benefit of her sister Manpreet.
Walls closed in on Meena in February, 2022, as she tried to steal Billy Fletcher, her newest obsession after David Metcalfe, from his wife Dawn Taylor.

Actress Paige Sandhu left Emmerdale as her character was incarcerated and, despite a string of heartbroken fans who never wanted her reign of terror to end, there have been no plans for her to come back to the village as of yet.
In fact, Paige announced earlier this year she bagged her first role since leaving the soap.
She will be portraying Princess Sophia Duleep Singh in the upcoming movie Lioness.
But could she and soap bosses surprise viewers?
