Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that people are trying to obstruct India's development while its citizens are demanding an end to issues like corruption and appeasement. Modi urged people on National Handloom Day to give a push to local products, including textiles, during forthcoming festivals. He also referred to Khadi, saying sales have risen from INR25,000-30,000 crore ($3.3bn-$4bn) before 2014 to INR1.3 lakh crore.
