IND vs WI 2nd T2OI: Nicholas Pooran Surpasses Aaron Finch, Jos Buttler To Create Unique Record Against India
INDIA’s Tilak Varma (51) struck his maiden T20I half-century but Nicholas Pooran hammered a brilliant 40-ball 67 and West Indies survived a major scare, losing four wickets for two runs late, to reach 155/8 to win the match by two wickets and take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
“Satisfied that I performed. Something that I have been looking for in the last couple of years, so be there and finish games. I want to be consistent. I have been working so hard, I have made a lot of mistakes, lost a lot of games for my teams. I want to entertain the fans as much as possible. It’s about being positive and confident,” said Pooran after receiving the player of the match.
The hosts now have the opportunity to win their first-ever series against India since 2016. The last time the Carribeans had won a series against India was in the T20I format only back in 2016 when they won the two-game contest 1-0. The Windies then beat India at home in an one-off T20I in 2017. India have won five series against the Windies.

Nicholas Pooran blasted a superb half-century, putting up a brazen display of power-hitting as he scored 67 off 40 deliveries to help the hosts recover. He shared a 57-run partnership with skipper Rovman Powell for the fourth wicket that set his team on course to victory.
The wicket-keeper batter surpassed Aaron Finch and Jos Buttler to create a unique record against Team India during the second T20I being played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Pooran has now become the leading run-scorer against India in T20Is. He now got 524 runs in 17 innings and surpassed former Aussie skipper Aaron Finch who had 500 runs in 18 innings.
Next in the list is the English skipper Jos Buttler with 475 runs in 18 innings and following him is the explosive all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who has scored 438 runs against Men in Blue in just 18 innings.
