Newington police search for vehicle in hit-and-run crash with bicycle
Newington police are looking for a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a bicyclist on Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the area of Fenn Road just north of Ella Grasso Boulevard around 10:55 a.m. on Sunday for a report of a person on a bicycle that was struck by a vehicle, according to the Newington Police Department.
The bicyclist was heading northbound on Fenn Road at the time of the collision. According to police, the vehicle, driven by a man, fled the scene and was last seen traveling northbound on Fenn Road.
The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to Saint Francis Hospital, police said.
The suspect’s vehicle appeared to be an older model Toyota Camry color silver/gray with no front license plate and a broken passenger side headlight, according to police.
