The Railway’s Multi-Section Axle Counter (MSDAC) system, used to detect track occupancy by a train, has been found to be faulty according to a report. The system has been installed and is being tested on a trial basis in approximately 4,000 units bought by the railways for INR5 lakh per unit. Officials have warned that the faults in the units could lead to danger unless the equipment was withdrawn.
