Donald Trump slams Fox News for using ‘big orange’ picture of him with unflattering chin
Former President Donald Trump blasted Fox News show for apparently showing unflattering angles of his chin including his ‘orange’ photo.
Trump blasted the Fox and Friends morning show on Thursday morning, along with his usual bashing of the Biden administration and his political opponents.
‘Why doesn’t Fox and Friends show all of the Polls where I am beating Biden, by a lot. They just won’t do it! Also, they purposely show the absolutely worst pictures of me, especially the big “orange” one with my chin pulled way back,’ wrote Trump on his Truth Social platform.
‘They think they are getting away with something, they’re not. Just like 2016 all over again…And then they want me to debate!’
It was not clear which exact picture Trump was referring to. Trump’s critics have attempted to ridicule him by referring to his skin as orange-colored.
Trump hit at Fox News as the network has been hoping he will participate in its first 2024 GOP debate next week. Trump, the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination, has not committed to entering the debate.
The ex-president recently called Fox News ‘hostile’ toward him. Although the conservative-leaning network had been largely providing more favorable coverage of him compared to competitors like MSNBC and CNN, Trump has been upset that Fox News have given attention to Republican candidate Ron DeSantis.
‘Reminds me of 2016 when they were pushing “JEB!”‘ wrote Trump last month. ‘The new Fox Poll, which have always been purposely terrible for me, has “TRUMP Crushing DeSanctimonious,” but they barely show it.’
In early August, The New York Times reported that Trump dined with Fox News president Jay Wallace and chief executive Suzanne Scott at his Bedminster golf club after his third indictment. The Fox bosses reportedly lobbied him to participate in the debate.
Trump previously said it would be ‘sort of foolish’ and ‘stupid’ for him to to attend the debates, the first which is happening August 23 in Milwaukee.
The ex-president has recently shown concern about his appearance. Earlier this month during an appearance in New Hampshire, he asked for more air conditioning.
‘I want to say officially for the press: It’s about 110 degrees in this room. Nice job with the air conditioning,’ Trump said. ‘You know what the press will say? They’ll say Trump didn’t look well. He was extremely wet. It is 104 or 105 degrees in here. But we’re OK with it, right?’
