South magnets only this morning
Hello Friends,
Some head-high plusses at the south magnets this morning, but the swell’s missing most stretches otherwise. It was a beautiful, if chilly, morning with 12-20 kts of westerly wind at 0700. Tide is high at 1000 and back to low at 1545. Swell should stick around through the day, but the peak looks very much like being this morning in the Sydney region. Tomorrow I’m hoping the energy will stick around for another day of fun ones in the chest to shoulder plus range at those optimal exposures. Beyond that, we could have a few leftovers for Monday morning but Tuesday’s out. And the back half of the week is, shall we say, ambiguous. Some modelling has another little pulse arriving Wednesday, while others are saying it’ll be just short-period straight south stuff in the knee to waist range…
Go well with your Saturday everyone.
Weather Situation
A trough and associated cold front are moving away from the New South Wales coast today, leaving vigorous west to southwesterly winds across the coast. Behind this, a high pressure system will move in from the west and become the dominant feature through the weekend, bringing significantly lighter winds. By Monday the high should be over the Tasman Sea, with winds shifting northerly in most coastal areas. The next cold front is forecast to arrive late Tuesday or Wednesday.
