Blue-chip defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin chooses Ole Miss over Hurricanes
The Hurricanes missed out on a top defensive talent on Saturday.
Four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin announced his commitment, choosing Ole Miss over Auburn, Miami and Tennessee, among others. He announced his choice on his Instagram page.
Franklin is one of the top-rated players in the 2024 class. He is rated the No. 8 defensive lineman in the class in 247Sports’ composite rankings and is listed as the No. 46 player in the nation.
The standout defensive lineman from Lake Cormorant, Mississippi, is listed at 6-5 and 265 pounds. Last season, he had 93 tackles and 19 sacks.
Although Franklin chose an in-state program, he has been a frequent visitor to Miami this year, taking four trips to Coral Gables in 2023. He took an official visit to UM early in June.
The Hurricanes have four defensive linemen committed in the 2024 class: four-star prospects Artavius Jones, Marquise Lightfoot and Elias Rudolph as well as three-star lineman Daylen Russell.
