Tom Creamer set for 50th Bay appearance
TOM CREAMER is in line to make his 50th appearance for the Seagulls when they take on Welsh Premier champions The New Saints at the 4 Crosses Arena on Tuesday (August 29th, 7:45pm kick off).
The popular midfielder, who made his Bay debut and scored in a 4-0 win at Penrhyncoch in August 2021, was a virtual ever-present last season, scoring 10 goals, and has scored Bay’s only Welsh Premier goal so far this season.
Full-timers TNS will be another massive challenge for the Bay and remain unbeaten in domestic football so far this season – although they did drop their first league points at the weekend, conceding two late goals in a 2-2 draw with Barry Town United.
The Bay have had little time to digest their 1-0 defeat at Cardiff Met University, but manager Steve Evans remains confident that his team are not far away from chalking up their first win.
That will be tough on Tuesday, but with Udi Akpan and Alfie Brooks set to make their home debuts, the Bay will be hoping for another big home crowd to get behind them.
“It will be another huge test and a quick turnaround from Cardiff Met,” said the manager when looking ahead to the game.
“It’s where you want to see where you’re at as they’re the best team in the league, the only full-time team.
“But we’ll be ready, we’ll have a gameplan and hopefully surprise a few.
“They do things right and they will be looking to build on last year and bounce back after a disappointing European campaign.
“But we’re focused on ourselves, it’s going to be mainly about us and how we can stop them and how we can hurt them as well.”
