Man killed in drive-by shooting in North Hollywood
NORTH HOLLYWOOD — Homicide detectives Sunday were investigating the fatal shooting of a 52-year-old North Hollywood resident.
Around 3:25 p.m. Friday, North Hollywood Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 6100 block of Carpenter Avenue and found Mario Palacios down in the street, suffering from a single gunshot wound, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Palacios dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Palacios was walking south on Carpenter when a vehicle pulled alongside him and a shot was fired from within, according to police. The suspect drove away northbound on Carpenter.
