Journalist reports Spurs staff have been extremely impressed by 16-year-old
Charlie Eccleshare has revealed that Tottenham believe they have unearthed a gem in academy starlet Mikey Moore.
Moore is widely seen as one of the most promising talents in the Spurs academy, with the winger scoring three goals and providing four assists in 10 appearances for the Under-18s last season (Transfermarkt).
The 16-year-old also featured on a couple of occasions in Premier League 2 and played five times in Tottenham’s UEFA Youth League campaign in 2022-23.
The teenager signed his first professional contract back in June, with Fabrizio Romano revealing at the time that Daniel Levy and the Spurs board fought hard to keep the winger at the club as he was attracting interest from several European sides.
Tottenham’s former Under-16s coach Yaya Toure, who left the North London club to take over as assistant coach at Standard Liege recently, told PA Sport (via Football.London) last month that Moore is one to watch out for over the coming years.

Eccleshare has now revealed that the young winger is a player who is generating excitement among the coaches at Hotspur Way.
The journalist said on The View From The Lane Podcast: “But I mean looking at it now, Mikey Moore is one who people I speak to, they’re really excited about. He’s said to be a proper talent.”

In Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham finally have a head coach who is willing to give opportunities to young players and one who is not shy of throwing youngsters into the deep end.
So, the likes of Moore, Alfie Devine and other academy players would be much more optimistic about breaking into the first-team set-up than they were during Conte’s regime.
