OpenAI Unveils ChatGPT Tool With Enterprise-Grade Security and Privacy
OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Enterprise, an artificial intelligence (AI) tool with a focus on enterprise-grade security and privacy.
ChatGPT Enterprise also has a range of enhanced features that aim to elevate productivity and creativity in the workplace, the company said in a Monday (Aug. 28) blog post.
Since the launch of ChatGPT nine months ago, that tool has been adopted by over 80% of Fortune 500 companies, according to the post. ChatGPT Enterprise is designed to provide a way for firms to deploy the technology safely and quickly, using it to improve communication, accelerate coding tasks, tackle complex business questions and assist with creative work.
One of the standout features of ChatGPT Enterprise is its commitment to data ownership and control, the release said. OpenAI ensures that businesses retain full ownership of their data, with no usage of customer data for training purposes. Moreover, ChatGPT Enterprise is SOC 2 compliant, with the highest standards of security. All conversations are encrypted both in transit and at rest, providing an additional layer of protection for sensitive information.
ChatGPT Enterprise removes usage caps and performs up to two times faster than previous versions, per the post. It also allows users to process longer inputs or files, thanks to its 32k context capability. Additionally, ChatGPT Enterprise offers unlimited access to advanced data analysis capabilities, empowering both technical and nontechnical teams to quickly analyze information.
OpenAI has introduced new features to enhance collaboration and customization, according to the post. Shared chat templates enable teams to collaborate seamlessly, while organizations can tailor ChatGPT to their specific requirements. OpenAI also provides free credits to use their application programming interface (API), allowing businesses to create customized solutions.
ChatGPT Enterprise is available for businesses starting Monday (Aug. 28), offering enterprise-grade security and privacy, an admin console for large-scale deployments, and the most powerful version of ChatGPT to date.
This launch comes at a time when the AI landscape has become increasingly crowded and firms are deciding which innovative offerings and foundational large language model (LLM) platforms are the right fit for their own purpose.
It also comes about two weeks after OpenAI acquired Global Illumination, a consumer-facing AI specialist that OpenAI said has been leveraging AI to build “creative tools, infrastructure and digital experiences.”
