Passengers choose LATAM as “South America’s Leading Airline 2023” for travel experience
The consistent cabin upgrades featuring ergonomic seats that prioritise comfort, the integration of technologies, and the new fantastic cuisine options were just some of the reasons that motivated passengers to select LATAM Airlines as “South America’s Leading Airline 2023” for the eighth consecutive year at the World Travel Awards, considered the Oscars of the travel industry.
The LATAM Play entertainment system, with continuously updated exclusive content, and the digitization of the customer experience, placing emphasis on self-service technologies both within and outside the airport, are other qualities that have highlighted to the awarding of this prize. Furthermore, the changes in the onboard culinary offering, including complimentary service on domestic routes and a unique recipe program for long-haul flights, which celebrates the cultural and gastronomic heritage of South America, in collaboration with emerging female chefs representing regional cuisines on board long-haul flights.

It’s worth noting that the WTA, celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, are presented both globally and regionally/internationally in a wide range of categories, including hotels/tourist accommodations, tourist attractions, and airlines/transport. To select the winners, the voting platform is opened to passengers and professionals who are familiar with or have experienced the products or services. This voting process determines the winners in their respective categories, with “airlines” being the largest and most extensive category of the event.
The 2023 award ceremony took place on August 26 on the island of Saint Lucia (Caribbean) during the World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Ceremony 2023. Maite Gallastegui Brana, Deputy Passenger Services Manager of LATAM, and Claudia Francisca Moya Seguel, Deputy Crew Development Manager, were present at the event.
