All the Footwear Collaborations Happening at New York Fashion Week for Spring 2024
New York Fashion Week has returned to the Big Apple with all the newest collections for spring ’24. And with them, a tradition of unique and unexpected footwear collaborations. Designers and footwear brands team up each season to create new shoe designs for the new collections, many of which can be seen on models strutting down the runways.
Here, a look at all of the footwear collaborations coming from New York Fashion Week’s spring ’24 lineup.
Batsheva and Toms
Batsheva partnered up with Toms for a shoe collab that combined the distinctive stylish comfort of Toms with Batsheva’s unique design sensibilities. Inspired by the 1950s and housewives of the time period, pieces were made out of placemats and oven mitts. “I thought it would be cool to hand-sew ruffly trims around the edges and on top of Toms shoes, to take the casual vibe of the shoes and make them frilly and feminine,” Batsheva Hay, designer of Batsheva said in the collection’s release.
Jonathan Cohen and Larroudé
For his first show back to NYFW since 2020, Jonathan Cohen tapped Larroudé to create a capsule footwear line to go with the new collection. Cohen’s signature hand painted prints and textured fabrics can be seen on Larroudé’s most popular shoe silhouettes, like her Dolly platform and Kate knee-high boot. “I have always felt that our prints and treatments would lend themselves well to accessories,” Cohen told FN ahead of his spring ’24 presentation. “We are always pushing ourselves to find new and innovative ways to use our fabric scraps and have been wanting to try this studded floral technique on shoes for quite some time. I loved the result.”
