Olivia Rodrigo Glitters in Crystal-Embellished 5-Inch Roger Vivier Heels at MTV VMAs 2023
Olivia Rodrigo brought shine to the red carpet at the 2023 VMA’s held tonight in Newark, N.J. The heavy-hitting hitmaker is up for six different categories including “Video of the Year,” “Best Editing,” and “Best Cinematography” among others.
For the star-studded occasion, Rodrigo donned a pair of platform Roger Vivier silver sandals, offering her an extra 5 inches in height. The footwear was constructed of glittering metallic silver uppers that gave way to a strappy construction that wrapped around the performer’s ankles and across the tops of her toes. Ornate crystalized buckle detailing sat atop each toe, further imparting a dazzling effect.
The young songstress is a major fan of heels, especially of the platform variety. In fact, she’s managed to work them into a variety of outfits.
Matching the intense shine of her shoes, the “Vampire” songstress donned a design by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. The gown was crafted of a dazzling holographic fabric that reflected the light in an eye-catching manner.
The garment also included a plunging and strappy neckline and a body-con fit that tapered outwards at the skirt. The dress’s dramatic nature was further emphasized thanks to a striking side slit that traveled up the length of Rodrigo’s leg.
Where footwear is concerned, Rodrigo often wears pairs that complement her edgy style. Black leather combat and knee-high boots by Dr. Martens, Naked Wolfe and Magda Butrym have proven to be her favorites, as well as sneakers by Vans and Converse. Her statement footwear choices often include chunky platforms or taller heels, like boots and heels by Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs or T.U.K.
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) celebrate the top music videos and performances in the music industry. This year’s awards show will honor Shakira with the Video Vanguard Award for her musical contributions to pop culture, and feature a range of performances by stars, including Doja Cat, Anitta, Cardi B, Meghan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo.
