Chanel West Coast Slips Into Leather Knee-High Boots for MTV VMAs 2023 Red Carpet
Chanel West Coast brought grunge style to the pink carpet at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards at Prudential Center on Sept. 12 in Newark, N.J.
The “Ridiculous” co-host donned a pair of black knee-high boots. The leather heels featured a fitted silhouette fastened by a zipper closure. The pointed-toe boots brought height to the look with a stiletto heel that was about 3 inches tall.
Chanel was dressed in a black leather minidress that featured a straight neckline lined with a silver linked chain that sat just above the bodice filled with sparkling cross embellishments and hanging chains. The piece was completed with a fishnet overlay that created an asymmetrical hemline above the croc-embossed skirt.
The rapper accessorized with silver-toned oversized jewelry opting for a cross-pendant necklace, heart-shaped dangle earrings, and an assortment of sparkling rings and bracelets. She completed the look with a silver metallic bucket bag. She kept her light brown hair in a high wavy ponytail which complimented her minimal makeup that featured a glossy lip. The glowing look was created by hairstylist Lorenzo Diaz and makeup artist David Velasquez.
Throughout her career, Chanel has often favored fitted silhouettes that featured vibrant colors and various embellishments. She usually pairs her looks with a pair of pointed-toe pumps or strappy sandals. Her shoe closet is filled with pieces from top labels like Christian Louboutin. When off-duty, Chanel loves to slip into a pair of sneakers or boots from brands like Vans, Dr. Martens and Adidas.
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) celebrate the top music videos and performances in the music industry. This year’s awards show will honor Shakira with the Video Vanguard Award for her musical contributions to pop culture, and feature a range of performances by stars, including Doja Cat, Anitta, Cardi B, Meghan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo.
