Felicette, a black and white cat from Paris, became the first and only feline to venture into space in 1963. She embarked on a suborbital mission, reaching 96 miles above the Earth's surface. Felicette was selected for this pioneering mission to study how a living being experienced space travel. Unfortunately, after her return, she was euthanized for an examination of her brain.
