Ranking all 16 winless NFL teams (the Bills!) by who most needs a win in Week 2
You’ve heard the 0-2 cliches, and you’ll keep hearing them because they have stood the test of time.
Starting 0-2 in an NFL season isn’t a death sentence for postseason ambitions, but it’s pretty close. Since 1970, over 400 teams have begun regular seasons with an 0-2 record. Just about 10 percent of them went on to qualify for the playoffs. Only three 0-2 teams have ever gone on to win the Super Bowl — the 1993 Dallas Cowboys, the 2001 New England Patriots, and the 2007 New York Giants.
Suffice it to say the math does not lie. Score a win within the first two weeks of a regular season, or your season is probably toast.
Naturally, with everyone playing in Week 1, half of the NFL is now winless and looking to get off the schneid this week. Some of these teams are just trying to survive the year. Some hope to make noise in January (and February). And another defeat could be a dagger in their respective campaigns.
Let’s rank the current 0-1 NFL teams by who can least afford another loss.
