Everything you can nab for free on your birthday to make it the best day ever – and why you need to hit a Hotel Chocolat
THERE’S few better feelings that bagging yourself a freebie – and it’s even more of a boost when it’s your birthday.
So one resourceful influencer has made a handy video compiling all the best high-street giveaways you can enjoy on your special day.
And it includes plenty of chocolatey treats, so if you have sweet tooth you might want to listen up.
Grace Booth, who uses the Instagram handle @GraceBooth97, shares everything from reno jobs to recipes with her 140k followers.
In a recent reel, she filmed herself enjoying as many big-brand freebies as she could on her big day.
She started off with a visit to the smoothie bar Juice, which offers app users who are celebrating their birthday a free drink of their choice.
Grace canilly “went for the most expensive one”, a £7 mint drink that she described as “quite good”.
Her next stop was luxe confectioner Hotel Chocolat, where celebrating customers get a complimentary £5 voucher.
You can either put the money towards a more pricey item or spend it on a mini bag of goodies, with Grace opting for some chocolate “gemstones”.
Next on the list was Lidl, which offers a free donut or cookie.
The birthday girl opted for the cookie, declaring that it was “so flipping good, it really hit the spot”.
Grace then ventured to Krispy Kreme, where you can pick any donut of your choice from their array of eclectic flavours to enjoy.
“I went for the chocolate sprinkles,” the thrifty influencer told viewers, “because why not on your birthday?”
For a more traditional birthday offering, Grace headed to Costa where you can nab a free birthday cake.
They only had carrot cake by the time she got there – “luckily one of my favourites,” Grace added – and it was a really good one.
Fancy coffee shop Gail’s was her next stop, where you can enjoy one of their morning goods if you download their Rewards App.
Grace nabbed her “favourite thing in the world”, a tasty-looking chocolate and almond croissant absolutely stacked with nutty topping.
“If you’ve never had this, sort it out,” she ordered her followers as she nommed the mouth-watering treat.
She then headed to Greggs to enjoy a free sweet treat, opting for a cute little cupcake with sprinkles.
“I didn’t expect it to be so good,” Grace confessed, “but it was flipping amazing!”
“Maybe just because it’s free food, and free food always tastes better,” she confessed.
Last off was the Body Shop, where you can grab a £5 birthday voucher.
Grace put the money towards an aromatic sleep oil – which presumably will have come in handy after her busy day dashing from store to store.
The video received almost 25k likes, with plenty of viewers chiming in with their own recommendations of where you can pick up a free birthday treat.
“Lindt also give you a free box of chocolates at their stores!” one wrote.
Another helpful viewer noted that “with the caffe nero app you can get a free slice of cake too!”
