Report: Club’s pursuit of Spurs star ‘will definitely warm up’ in January
Croatian outlet Slobodna Dalmacija have suggested that Hajduk Split’s interest in Ivan Perisic will heat up in January after Tottenham agreed on a deal to sign Luka Vuskovic.
While Spurs are yet to announce Vuskovic’s capture, all indications are that the deal is done, with the young centre-back expected to sign for the North London club in a deal worth £12m before being loaned back to Hajduk until 2025 (Evening Standard).
There is understandably some excitement about Tottenham’s capture of the 16-year-old, who is rated as one of the best young defenders of his age group, with several of Europe’s big hitters having shown interest in him this summer (Calciomercato).
There has been some speculation in the Croatian press that the aforementioned transfer could potentially facilitate Perisic’s return to Hajduk in January.
In fact, the Croatian club’s goalkeeper Ognjen Cancareviceven told Germanijak a couple of days ago that he had already spoken to the Tottenham man about the possibility of the return and that the 34-year-old is aware of the speculation.
Perisic move could heat up in January window
Slobodna Dalmacija have now also talked up the possibility of the Croatian side securing the services of Perisic, who will only have six months left on his contract at Tottenham in January.
The publication states that while only Vuskovic’s move to Spurs has been agreed for the moment, a deal for the former Inter Milan man ‘will definitely warm up’ once the January transfer window rolls around.
The report adds that should Hajduk re-sign Perisic, ‘a party would probably start straight away’ as his arrival would make the club title favourites.

Perisic is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January. So, I would not be surprised if he is already having conversations with his boyhood club about a potential free transfer next summer.
