Horrifying 999 call as dad mauled to death by two XL Bullys as neighbours beg cops for help
HORRIFYING details of a 999 call made as a dad was mauled to death by two XL Bullys have been revealed.
Ian Price, 52, suffered catastrophic injuries when two hell hounds leapt out of a neighbour’s window before jumping through a hedge.
The Aston Villa fan was viciously attacked in a garden in Stonall, Staffordshire, as he tried to protect his mum from the beasts.
Brave neighbours desperately tried to save Ian by battering the dogs with bins but he tragically died later after being airlifted to hospital.
Now, footage, believed to be of the fatal attack has been shared on social media.
And in the background, one of the neighbours can be heard making the 999 call as the loving father was savaged.
When the line connects, they can be heard above the shouts and screams of neighbours saying: “Hello there, yep …” before they confirm the address that the attack is happening at.
They continue: “… and there’s two dogs attacking a man … very, very serious …” his words are then blocked out by another neighbour, screaming for someone to do something.
After listening for a prolonged period, the man asks the operator: “Are you aware of the seriousness though?”
Nearby St Peter’s Primary Academy was placed on lockdown, with terrified children prevented from leaving “for safety reasons”.
The owner was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and having dogs dangerously out of control following the death of Mr Price.
He was released on bail on Saturday morning.
Staffordshire Police said it was aware of footage circulating on social media and urged people not to post it.
The force said: “This was a horrendous incident. We understand that the impact felt by the local community is large.
“We would urge anyone with footage of the attack to not post or share it on social media for the sake of the victim’s family.
“It’s important that anyone with video evidence from this incident send it to us instead.”
It comes as Rishi Sunak said XL Bully dogs will be banned by the end of the year to stop violent attacks.
Announcing the clampdown, the PM said in a statement: “It’s clear this is not about a handful of badly trained dogs, it’s a pattern of behaviour and it cannot go on.”
It comes as a man was arrested after 11-year-old Ana Paun was brutally attacked by an XL Bully.
In a terrifying video of the attack, Ana is seen being grappled to the floor by the hound which had “broken free from its collar” leaving her with shoulder and arm injuries.
