A study by the Railway Board has highlighted the need for dedicated coal corridors to meet India's increasing power demand. The report suggests developing exclusive tracks for coal transportation from states like Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh to various parts of the country. The study projects an increase in coal consumption to 1853 million tons in 2030, higher than previous projections.
