The Reserve Bank of India is considering a proposal from banks to include loans to solar panel manufacturers in the priority sector lending category. The decision is expected to be made within the next two to three months. The recommendation comes after discussions between banks, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Renewable Energy regarding financing issues faced by solar photovoltaic makers.
