I’m a master Ford salesman – hidden button is a lifesaver if you lose your keys… but it’s not easy to find
A MASTER Ford salesman has revealed to drivers how to re-programme a new set of keys by using a hidden button.
Jorge Lopez has provided expert knowledge on what drivers can do if they lose their smart keys for their vehicle.
Losing your car keys is a very common occurrence but Ford have ensured that there are ways around it when you need to gain access to your vehicle.
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Jorge explains how you can re-programme a new key and retrieve your door code using one sneaky little trick.
There’s a hidden button in a slot that is located on the centre console or in the centre storage area depending on the vehicle.
Once you’ve found it, you can begin the process of reprogramming a new set of keys.
Jorge said: “If you need to re-programme your key, you use that slot so that the computer can learn that this is a new key that you’re programming.
“You also use that slot to retrieve your door code.
“If you don’t have your door code with you, then you can use that slot to go ahead and retrieve the code.
“If you have a dead remote control and your lock and unlock buttons are not working, that means your push button start is not going to work either.
“But if you insert the key into the slot it will allow you to push the button to start the vehicle – even with a dead remote control.”
This sneaky little trick will also allow you to obtain your door code.
This is then used on the outside of your vehicle to open and close the doors if you are without your keys.
To retrieve your door code, you must once again insert your key into the slot and then push the start button.
“The vehicle will power up and your door code should appear on the screen”, adds Jorge.
Elsewhere, a Ford technician has also revealed how drivers can programme their own personal entry code to get in and out of their vehicle.
Drivers will then be able to get in and out of their car without needing a key.
