In a report released on Friday, ESCAP noted that losses from climate change due to high emissions could be higher at 35% of the gross domestic product for India compared with 24% of the GDP for developing Asia by 2100, and average losses for Asia-Pacific economies from disaster-related and other natural hazards could double to $1.4 trillion in the worst case scenario during this period.
