US begins charter flights to Americans escaping Israel

WASHINGTON D.C.: After discussions with airlines and pressure from Congress, the U.S. State Department said that from October 13, it began offering charter flights to Europe to help Americans wishing to leave Israel.

White House spokesman John Kirby said a day earlier that the U.S. government would provide charter flights to European cities. "We know there is a demand signal out there," he said.
