Huge celeb reality show ‘will return’ next year – and fans can’t wait to see it
CELEBRITY Big Brother is reportedly set to return next year with a primetime slot on ITV1.
The exciting news was revealed by TV industry magazine Broadcast, which claimed the show’s possible comeback is in the earliest stages.
It also appears CBB has not yet been commissioned or given any fixed premiere date.
ITV said: “At present we are focused on the current series of Big Brother and any announcements regarding future series will be made in due course.”
Celebs who have appeared on the show over the years include Katie Price, Rylan Clark, Lee Ryan, Calum Best, LaToya Jackson, Vinnie Jones and Michelle Heaton.
The last series of Celebrity Big Brother aired on Channel 5 in 2018, with Ryan Thomas going on to win.
He found himself at the centre of a ‘punch’ row with Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett, who dramatically left the house prematurely.
Ryan was branded a “woman beater” after the the pair appeared to play fight, before being given a formal warning in the diary room.
Fans of the show bombarded Ofcom with tweets and complaints after the footage aired, with many defending Ryan.
The civilian version of Big Brother was brought back to screens by ITV2 after a five year break last week.
Bosses blocked reality ‘wannabes’ from taking part in the new series – making sure housemates selected are “diverse and reflective of the population”.
Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best won over audiences as they fronted the launch, as well as the spin-off show Late & Live.
Original narrator Marcus Bentley, who has covered every single episode since the show began in 2000, has been brought back – much to the delight of fans.
