The Indian government has introduced mandatory quality norms for helmets for police force, bottled water dispensers, and door fittings in an effort to reduce the import of sub-standard goods and promote domestic manufacturing. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) mark will be required on these items to ensure compliance. The new regulations will come into effect in six months, with additional grace periods for small and micro industries.
