The man police are hunting after a Maine mass shooting is a firearms instructor in the US Army reserve

The man police are looking for after a mass shooting in a Maine city is a firearms instructor who is in the US Army Reserve, according to a police bulletin seen by the Associated Press.
Maine State Police announced an active shooter in the city of Lewiston on Wednesday night. Lewiston Police identified two locations in the shooting: Schemengees, a restaurant; and Sparetime Recreation, a bowling alley.
Robert McCarthy, a Lewiston city councilor, told CNN that at least 22 people were killed, saying he got information from a city administrator. Police have not announced a death toll.
The suspect was still at large as of Thursday morning, police said.
Maine State Police said on Thursday that they were searching for Robert R. Card, and that he is "considered armed and dangerous."

The police bulletin that was sent to law enforcement officials and was seen by the AP identified Card as a person of interest.
He was described a firearms instructor who is believed to be in the Army Reserve and assigned to a training facility in Saco, Maine.
The bulletin also said Card was committed to a mental health facility for two weeks in summer of 2023.
It said Card had reported "hearing voices and threats to shoot up" the military base, but did not give further details about what he was dealing with or his treatment.
The AP tried to contact Card using a phone number in public records, but the number was not in service.
The police's own update on Thursday said "If seen people should not approach Card or make contact with him." It told people to call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
It also said that a "vehicle of interest" was found in the nearby town of Lisbon.
Police asked people Lewiston to shelter in place — which means finding a safe place indoors, without relocating — on Wednesday night. On Thursday, it asked people in Lisbon to shelter "to shelter in place as law enforcement works in that area to locate Card."
