On Thursday India logged 24 new Covid-19 cases, according to the Union health ministry data. On October 19, the count was 48 cases, higher than 38 on the previous day, 21 on October 17 and 33 cases on October 17. Rajeev Jayadevan, co-chairman of Indian Medical Association's national Covid Task Force, said that the research needs to continue and unless there is systematic monitoring, there is a possibility to miss large events of epidemiological importance to the country as well as the world.
