The New Owner of Carole Middleton's Former Business Is Revealing That She Was Never as Financially Successful as the Media Portrayed

Carole Middleton has been in the hot seat ever since her former business, Party Pieces, went into bankruptcy earlier this year. While she has the support of her neighbors, who are protecting her amid the financial controversy, new owner James Sinclair is revealing some rather personal information about Kate Middleton’s mother’s money situation. 

Sinclair, who was initially speaking positively about Carole and how she wasn’t responsible for the failure of the party supplies company, seems to be taking a radically different approach to discussing the royal-adjacent individual to the media. The new owner, who bought the business in bankruptcy, but did not take on the debts, had sympathy for Carole’s plight while still revealing just a little too much about her financial state. “Everyone thinks she came out of it with a big fat cheque but quite the opposite is true, she came out of it with nothing,” Sinclair explained to The Sun about Carole’s sale of Party Pieces to investors after deciding to retire. 

After the investors changed many of the charming and successful elements of the company, including discontinuing their beloved catalogue, Carole came in at the last minute to help save Party Pieces at the tail-end of the pandemic —  but it was too late. Suppliers were left with many unpaid bills even though she reportedly promised to get them paid. “People expect her or her family to foot the bill, but they haven’t got the kind of the money people think they have,” Sinclair said with a slight dig. He’s implying that she’s not as rich as the media makes her seem.

Carole’s creditors aren’t likely to ever see their money again, and one disgruntled supplier allegedly hung negative posters around their small village of Bucklebury, noting their royal connection. At the same time, Sinclair is promising to bring the company back to life, but he might want to keep his press quotes a little more discreet.
