Storm Ciaràn tracker shows how deadly storm will rip right through heart of UK
Storm Ciaràn, the third named storm of the season, is already showing its teeth on the south-west coast of England – but the weather will be getting a lot worse in the next few days.
Tomorrow, two separate amber warnings are in place for wind in the far south, while yellow warnings for wind and rain are scattered around the rest of the UK.

The green lines show the direction and speed of wind that will hit the country’s shores in the coming hours and days.
As Thursday morning progresses, the weather gets particularly intense in two sections of the south coast.
By the early afternoon, the wind appears to be revolving around a central point somewhere in Lincolnshire.
The Met Office’s two amber warnings for tomorrow focus on Devon and Cornwall at one side of the country, and the south-east coast including Portsmouth, Brighton, Kent and the Isle of Wight at the other side.
Both warn that flying debris could present a ‘danger to life’, while there is predicted to be a heavy amount of disruption to travel.
In the Channel Islands, a red warning has been issued for the coming days and locals are being told they should stay inside as a ‘violent storm’ approaches.
Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney airports will be closed tomorrow along with every school on the islands, and pictures of empty shelves in shops on the islands have been shared on social media.
