Nike Releases ‘Nike Swoosh 1′ Baby Sneakers To Support Infants’ First Steps

Nike is expanding its’ baby footwear lineup with a brand-new style, just in time for fall.

The athletic giant has just unveiled its latest sneaker, the Nike Swoosh 1 — which is aimed at infants taking their very first steps. The $65 style features a rounded silhouette, centered around lightweight blue TPU rubber outsoles with a square-textured base to ensure stability, grip and traction on the ground; all are available in sizes 3C to 7C (6-9 months to 16-18 months).

Additional support can be seen in the pair’s uppers, which include a wide Velco-strapped silhouette with long heel tabs — ensuring it’s easy to pull on and off as needed. Crafted with Nike’s signature seamless FlyKnit, the softly textured set is given a vibrant boost from its red, yellow, blue and white color palette. Large Swoosh logos top each shoe for a burst of logomania, in tandem with the new style’s name.

Aside from its supportive soles and silhouette, however, the Nike Swoosh 1 includes additional features to ensure an infant’s first steps are safe and natural. As babies’ feet need to shift, bend and find their natural movement once they begin to learn to walk, the style can be bent and flexed in any direction for increased mobility, according to a brand release.

Additionally, the pair’s Flyknit uppers provide stable support, while its rubber soles include a wide toe box to enhance natural movement.

Due to these details, the Nike Swoosh 1 is notably the first children’s shoe from the FNAA-winning brand to receive the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance. This seal officially proves that a shoe has the ability to aid in foot development, making it a true accomplishment in the children’s footwear space.
