I wear my Amazon underwear as outerwear for fall – some people hate it but that’s okay, trends aren’t for everyone
A STYLIST has shared one of her favorite trends for fall — wearing her underwear as outerwear.
Even though the trend received mixed criticism, the influencer explained she personally loved it.
Julie (@julieelizavogel) shared the styling advice with over 29,000 TikTok followers.
She prefaced the advice with a warning: “Some of you are going to love, some of you are going to not love and that’s okay, trends are just trends,” she said.
Julie demonstrated a new “underwear as outerwear” trend with a pearl bralette she threw on top of a white dress shirt: “I think it’s really cool, I’m going to show you some other ideas,” she said.
She shared a photo of a woman in a grey dress suit, with a slit running down one side of her midi skirt.
“She’s wearing a bra bustier top over the jacket, over the shirt, I just think it’s unexpected, super cool, and edgy,” she said.
Another look she loved while also participating in the trend was a cotton two-piece with a jeweled vest.
Julie explained a big component of the trend was corsets on top of blazers: “It’s almost being used as a belt, like a real cinching waist belt,” she said.
Corsets are also being used over shirts: “So elegant and chic,” Julie said.
People took to the comments to share their thoughts on the trend.
Julie’s prediction about the trend not being for everyone proved accurate: “Definitely not for me but I am sure some will embrace,” said one commenter.
