2 upcoming events in Marin for documentary lovers
• The Stinson Beach Documentary Film Festival features five films over three days, including documentaries about rock legend Little Richard and Stinson Beach artist Tess Felix. The fest opens with a gala at 6 p.m. today and continues at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday at the Stinson Beach Community Center at 30 Belvedere Ave. in Stinson Beach. Admission, including dinner and drinks, is $200 for all three nights; individual day passes are $75 for Friday, $50 for Saturday and $20 for Sunday. Go to stinsondocfest.org.
• Michael Zelniker’s “The Issue With Tissue” examines the exploitation of Canada’s boreal forest, home to thousands of people and billions of animals, to feed the American consumer demand for disposable paper products like toilet paper. It opens 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lark Theater at 549 Magnolia Ave. in Larkspur and will be followed by a Q&A with Zelniker. Admission is $10 to $15. It continues through Nov. 17. Go to larktheater.net.
