Dhanteras, an important Hindu festival, is observed on the 13th day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. On this auspicious day, Hindus worship Lord Dhanvantari and Goddess Lakshmi for wealth and prosperity. Traditionally, people buy gold, silver, utensils, appliances, and vehicles as symbols of abundance. However, it is advised to avoid black items, glassware, sharp objects, exchange of gifts, lending money, and plastic or broken items to ensure an auspicious Dhanteras.
