‘Getting closer’ – Defender’s agent confirms he has spoken to Spurs about transfer

Radu Dragusin’s agent, Florin Manea, has revealed that he has spoken to multiple Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, about a transfer for his client.

It has been well documented over recent weeks that Spurs will prioritise signing a central defender in January (90 min).

Dragusin, who has impressed since his switch to Genoa 18 months ago, is thought to be one of the names on Tottenham’s wishlist, with Tutto Juve reporter Mirko Di Natale suggesting last week that the Lilywhites are exploring a move for the 21-year-old.

A couple of days ago, TuttoMercatoWeb revealed that the Romanian had signed a contract extension with Genoa but also has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with the club that he would be allowed to leave for a fee of €30m (£26.2m) in January.

Manea has now said that it is only a matter of time before his client makes the step up to a bigger club, confirming that he has spoken to Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal about the centre-back.

Dragusin’s representative told Fanatik: “The people from Genoa know (that he will soon leave). I have been in London for some time and have almost weekly meetings with important teams. We are getting closer. I spoke with Newcastle, with Arsenal, with Tottenham. 

“I also have the messages with them, conversations. There are teams that ask. I want to say that, 100 per cent by next summer, Radu will play for a very strong club. One in the top 10 in the world. He wants to be in the Premier League, but I know that Milan like him a lot. I talked to the people there.”

Dragusin would fit the bill for what Tottenham are looking for but there is very little indication at the moment that the Genoa star is at the top of Ange Postecoglou’s centre-back wishlist.
