A resident from Pal, Surat was cheated of Rs 7.88 lakh by cyber crooks through a bitcoin trading scam. The victim, a travel agent, received a message on WhatsApp offering him part-time work to earn money. He was asked to provide his bank details and transferred money to different bank accounts as directed by the crooks. Despite reporting the incident to the cyber helpline, he lost a significant amount of money. A complaint has been registered against 12 unknown persons.
