Aldi shoppers go wild for posh vodka brand dupe – and it’s almost half the price
ALDI fans are no stranger to their range of dupes, from high-end make-up brand copies to popular food items.
And now customers are running to the shop to get their hands on a copycat of a posh flavoured vodka brand that’s selling in store for almost half of the price.
Social media user Right Guys was among the first to shout about the alcohol dupe after he spotted it on shelves.
The vodka – called In – is a take on premium brand Au, which sells for approximately £28 – £30 a bottle.
But Aldi’s version is currently priced at just £16.99, meaning it’s almost half price and saves you over a tenner.
Right Guys, who is on TikTok under the name @rightguysreview, nabbed a bottle of the hard stuff and took it home to review to see if it was worth the hype.
In his video, he said: “Right guys, don’t walk to Aldi – run to Aldi.
“Au vodka in Aldi – blue raspberry flavour. £16.99, let’s get it home and try it out.”
The footage then cut to him at home as he poured himself a serving of the vodka with his chosen mixer – blue Prime.
As he prepared his drink for the taste test and removed the cork from the bottle, he continued: “Here it is. The Au vodka dupe –35.2 per cent. Remember guys, drink responsibly.”
He then gave his drink a sip and delivered his verdict, claiming it was a hit.
Right Guys said: “Oh, that’s good!
“Oh my word, that’s amazing – run to Aldi!”
But he wasn’t the only one who had been keen to check it out, as fellow TikTok user Claire, aka @highstreet_findsby_me, had also put one into her shopping basket.
She wrote underneath her video that “everyone loves a dupe”, as others tagged friends and family and told them to keep their eyes peeled.
One person wrote: “I love Aldi, it’s just one big dupe fest.”
A second social media user said they’d sampled it and it was “really good.”
While a third tagged a loved one and added: “Would you pick a couple of these up for me next time you’re in for Christmas i’ll send you the pennies?”
This comes after the budget supermarket had similar success in the summer with their take on the popular Whispering Angel wine.
