When will Gabe Vincent return from knee injury for the Lakers?

One of their big acquisitions of the off-season, the Lakers have hardly seen Gabe Vincent on the court yet this season. When will the guard return from his knee injury?

After a strong postseason run with the Miami Heat, Gabe Vincent was seen as a player who could come in and be a perfectly complementary role player for the Lakers. Unfortunately, injury has robbed the team from seeing that potential as Vincent has been sidelined due to what the team has classified as right knee effusion.

The injuries for Vincent started in the preseason and early in the regular season, though that was an unrelated back injury. In early November, Vincent was ruled out for two weeks due to right knee effusion, the first time the injury had been labeled as such. The injury had cropped up the night prior when he was ruled out for the team’s game against the Clippers.

The rehab process, though, has obviously stretched well past that two-week mark. And on Nov. 18, the team announced it would be another two weeks before Vincent would be re-evaluated with Dave McMenamin reporting he had a PRP treatment as well.

Now, the Lakers are in a holding pattern as they wait on his recovery. And if this feels like a familiar story with a recent Heat guard signed during free agency, you’re not alone in experiencing a little deja vu.
