Super Bowl odds, NFL Week 14: Chiefs remain overvalued after another uneven performance
Over their last five games, the Kansas City Chiefs have looked like anything but a Super Bowl contender.
They’re 2-3 in that span, with losses to the Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers — teams thought to be much inferior — falling to third place in the AFC after starting the season 6-1.
Yet, the reigning Super Bowl champs continue to receive the benefit of doubt from oddsmakers, who apparently expect them to flip a switch at some point. The drop by Kansas City’s Super Bowl odds after losing to the Packers was smaller than the drop suffered by the Philadelphia Eagles after losing to the favored San Francisco 49ers.
The Chiefs’ updated +500 odds are barely worse than +450 from a week ago and remain second-best in the NFL. The Eagles, meanwhile, fell out of a tie for first at +400 to tied at third with the Baltimore Ravens at +600.
