Australia advises citizens not to travel to Afghanistan
The Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it has advised all its citizens not to travel to Afghanistan due to security concerns.
On Monday, the ministry issued a warning through a statement, highlighting the presence of ongoing and widespread terrorist threats, including in the capital city of Kabul, Afghanistan.
The Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasized that it has no diplomats in Afghanistan, so its capacity to provide consular services and passports is limited.
In a statement, the ministry has stated that Australian citizens in Afghanistan are at a severe risk of abduction and detention.
So far, the Taliban administration has not reacted to this statement by Australia.
Previously, the foreign ministries of Britain and Germany had also urged all their citizens not to travel to Afghanistan.
The British government cited security threats and the possibility of attacks in religious places and airports as the reasons for the travel ban to Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Taliban administration had rejected the statements of the British government and deemed them “incorrect.”
