Steelers-Patriots on Thursday Night Football has the lowest total in 30 years
We haven’t had a lot of good Thursday Night Football games this season — and chances are Al Michaels isn’t too excited about calling the Patriots-Steelers game on Thursday.
That’s because the total for the game — which opened at 35 at DraftKings Sportsbook — has plummeted all the way down to 30, which would make it the lowest total in an NFL game this season. And also because it will likely feature Mitch Trubisky facing off against Bailey Zappe.
The Patriots have scored a total of 13 points in their past three games, and allowed a total of 26 points. They are the first team to go 0-3 in their past three games with 10 or fewer points allowed since the 1938 Chicago Cardinals. That’s not good.
But the total of 30 would also be the lowest in over 30 years. The last NFL game with a total of 30 was on Dec. 12, 1993 when the Patriots and Bengals faced off. The Patriots won the game 7-2.
Despite the incredibly low total, the public is still backing the UNDER, as 88 percent of bets and 93 percent of total dollars wagered are on the game to stay UNDER at DraftKings.
The total alone may be reason enough to watch this game on Thursday.
