Invest Cyprus pledges supports for Cyprus-UK cross-border education
National investment promotion agency Invest Cyprus on Monday released a statement reaffirming its commitment to cross-border education by fostering collaborations between tertiary education institutions in the United Kingdom and Cyprus.
The CEO of Invest Cyprus Marios Tannousis highlighted this effort during a forum on the internationalisation of higher education between the United Kingdom and Cyprus which was held in Nicosia.
Tannousis emphasised that Invest Cyprus provides assistance and facilitation to universities, research centres, innovation hubs, and higher education institutions, acting as a bridge between academic institutions and local authorities.
He further explained that as a proud sponsor of this forum, in close collaboration with the British Council team in Cyprus, the agency acknowledges the significance of cross-border education in shaping the future of higher education on a global scale.
Additionally, he noted that this event serves as a catalyst for the exchange of ideas, expertise, and best practices between the UK and Cyprus, providing a platform to forge substantial partnerships and collaborations.
What is more, he mentioned that the full-day forum was meticulously designed to create a dynamic space for governmental bodies of the United Kingdom and Cyprus, as well as higher education institutions, to establish the framework for cross-border education.
It further aims to clarify how existing legislation can serve as a supportive framework for future institutional partnerships in tertiary education.
Through promoting a collaborative environment, he continued, they aim to strengthen ties between nations and institutions, laying the groundwork for common development in higher education.
Concluding his remarks, Tannousis pledged that Invest Cyprus is committed to playing a pivotal role in nurturing these collaborations, facilitating dialogue, and providing a conducive environment for the exchange of ideas.
The forum included an interactive program featuring sessions where speakers shared insights into the current landscape of Cross-Border Education.
Finally, the announcement noted that the event was also attended by the Deputy High Commissioner of Britain.
