WFP distributes cash aid to 280,000 deported Afghan migrants from Pakistan
The World Food Programme has announced that it has distributed cash aid to 280,000 deported migrants from Pakistan so far.
on Monday, the organization said on its social media platform X about the assistance for returning migrants from Pakistan.
According to the World Food Programme, many of the migrants deported from Pakistan have no place to go and are uncertain about how they will survive the harsh Afghan winter.
The World Food Programme had previously stated that they need a budget of $27.5 million to assist migrants deported from Pakistan.
The organization also emphasized that thousands of migrants forced to return face hunger and despair and are in urgent need of assistance.
Since November, Pakistani authorities have initiated the forced deportation of Afghan migrants, a move that has been met with substantial criticism.
