Strictly star Zara McDermott sparks concern with hospital bed snap days after show final
STRICTLY star Zara McDermott has sparked concern after sharing a snap of herself in a hospital bed.
The Love Island legend revealed she had been admitted for a mystery procedure.
Zara, 27, posted a picture to her instagram stories in pink pyjamas sat in a hospital bed with a cannula in her arm and a ID wristband around her arm.
“Had a little procedure done yesterday!” she wrote cryptically. “Now ready for a super chilled Xmas.”
She did not reveal what the surgery was but her admission to hospital came two days after she returned to the Strictly dance floor for the show’s final on Saturday.
Zara shared an emotional message on her social media, bidding farewell to the show and reflecting on how it had changed her.
She wrote: “My Strictly journey has been one of the most life changing experiences. Some of the things I’ve learnt:
I can achieve anything I put my mind to. I dreamt of dancing on Strictly since I was a little girl, and I did it. I dreamed it so much that it actually came true.
“Experiences are all about the people you meet along the way. I met so many incredible people, but my experience wouldn’t have been what it was without my partner @grazianodiprima.”
Zara added that the experience had taught her that “nerves are normal” and “there is no better feeling than making your family proud.”
She concluded: “Life is all about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. It’s ok to not be perfect at everything; giving something a go is more important than being the best. And hey… I found a new hobby along the way.
Thank you Strictly for making me a stronger, more resilient, more mature woman. Thank you to my partner for being the absolute best teacher and friend! Ciao Strictly.”
Zara also celebrated her birthday last week, as well as being reunited with her I’m A Celebrity winner boyfriend Sam Thompson who returned from Australia.
Sam treated her for her big day by splashing out on a £3k Bottega designer handbag before taking her for dinner at the Ritz.
