Underdogs continue making Monday Night Football history with seventh straight win
It’s been an interesting NFL season for public bettors, full of twists and turns. For a while it seemed like there wasn’t an under you could bet that wouldn’t cash. And there have been weeks where it seemed like every favorite was winning and covering on a Sunday.
Recently, though, there’s been a different trend: Underdogs winning on Monday Night Football. Remarkably, the past seven underdogs have not only covered, but won outright on MNF, with the Seattle Seahawks (+4.5) coming back to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 20-17 in Week 15
The streak started in Week 10 when the Denver Broncos upset the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo, 24-22, as 7.5-point underdogs. It continued even last week with two MNF games, as the New York Giants (+5.5) beat the Green Bay Packers 24-22 and the Tennessee Titans (+13.5) defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-27 in the biggest upset this season.
It’s the longest streak of underdogs winning outright in the history of Monday Night Football, according to ESPN Stats & Information. MNF started in 1970.
Will the Baltimore Ravens (+5.5) keep the streak going in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers?
